Biography

Marsha R. Kennedy

Marsha R. Kennedy was born in Greenville South Carolina.  She is a graduate of Christ Church Episcopal School.  Marsha R. Kennedy graduated with her Bachelor’s degree with a double major in Studio Art (concentrating in Sculpture) and Theology from the University of Notre Dame in 1999.  Upon graduation from Notre Dame, she went on for further Studies at the University of Tennessee.  In 2003, Marsha R. Kennedy graduated from the University of Tennessee with the degrees of Doctor of Jurisprudence and Master of Business Administration specializing in Environmental Management and Global Business.  Currently, she is an Attorney in Greenville with her own law practice specializing in Guardian ad Litem work protecting and advocating the “best interest of the child.”

Although she acknowledges that she has been granted a great artistic gift, Marsha R. Kennedy continues to pursue a profession that will directly enable her to help others.  For the past fifteen years and now in her spare time, she has been creating a large collection of artwork.  She has exhibited work in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Indiana since 1995.  One of her pieces has also been inducted into the permanent collection at Christ Church Episcopal School.

 
Marsha R. Kennedy has always been active viewing, studying, and creating art.        She works in all mediums but has a special fondness for Sculpture.  Marsha has been most influenced by the work of Jackie Winsor (Post Minimalist, Canadian born American Sculptor) and recently by Damien Hirst (Contemporary, English Sculptor).  Marsha’s diverse background and interests (including Animal Rights, Religion, International (specifically Developing World) Travel, and Cross-Cultural Understanding) is evident in the theory, subject matter, and themes of her artwork.    Marsha is never at a loss of developing her own artistic concepts and theories.  Hours and often months of thought are behind each piece created.  She currently has many cross media series in progress.  Additional pieces of her artwork can be viewed at her office daily.
