Backpacking the Estatoe Location: Postal code 29611, United States Greenville, South Carolina 29611 Starts at: 9:00 AM This is not an all day event Description: The Estatoe Heritage Preserve is a beautiful, pristine wilderness area that is fortunately opened to primitive camping. The new trail is app. 2 miles with a total of 4 miles out and back. Elevation gain is 1200'. We will arrive at camp around noon on Saturday and leave out Sunday afternoon. This is a great trip for beginners or for people who have no experience backpacking. We can share gear so let me know if you're interested but have no gear. If it's warm enough there is a large plunge pool near the campsite. Also, there is excellent trout fishing in this area and I will definitely make good my promise for fresh grilled trout.
