Have You Been to South Carolina's Oldest Mexican Restaurant?

We visited El Matador in Taylors a few months ago, and our Instagram post about it became our most viral reel yet! As of the publication date of this post, it has 700K views. There was a lot of debate about where the best or most authentic Mexican food is in our state, but there was no debate about this spot being the oldest continuously open spot in the state and no arguing that they have created a spot where locals feel like family. Some neighbors mentioned that they've been going here their whole lives!

Established in 1968, El Matador has been on Wade Hampton Blvd. serving families for generations.

You’ve gotta try the Chile relleno, which is different than any we’ve ever had AND insanely delicious. Everything we tried was fabulous and everyone on the team was OUTSTANDING.

When you step into El Matador you really feel like you’re stopping in for dinner with family, and I just love that. This is going in our regular rotation!

El Matador is located at 2919 Wade Hampton Blvd in Taylor’s and they’re open Tuesday through Saturday!
